I'm trying to install a Viper 211hv keyless entry on my 1997 Prelude. I have the following wires going
to the following places.
Red (12v constant)- straight to battery
Blue (-200 mA Second unlock output) - no where
BLACK/ White-1 (Input of domelight supervision relay #87) - no where
BLACK/ white (output of domelight supervision relay #30) - no where
GREEN/ black (lock #30 common output) - BLACK/ white wire
WHITE/ black (lock #87 normally closed) - no where
violet/black (lock #87 normally open input) - grounded
blue/black (unlock #30 common output) - blue/orange wire
violet (unlock #87 normally open input) - grounded
white (+/- parking light flash output) - no where
black (ground) - grounded
brown (- horn honk output) - no where
lightGREEN/ black (factory alarm disarm) - no where
WHITE/ blue (- 200mA channel 3 validity output) - no where
yellow (+ switched ignition input accessory) - no where
orange (- 500mA ground when armed output) - no where
BROWN / black (unlock #87a normally closed) - no where
RED / white (- output of channel 2) - no where
My problem is that it will unlock the doors fine, but not lock them. When I press the lock button I
can hear the builtin relay fire, the led starts blinking to tell me its armed but the doors never lock.
Any help?

Did you verify with a meter that you have the correct lock trigger wire?

Just did. When I lock the doors that wire goes from 12v to 0v then back to 12v. Same as unlock wire when I unlock the doors.
Also I swapped the wires around and it would lock (with the unlock button) but not lock (with the unlock button). I'm lost.

Then the problem is with the ouptut of the unit! You stated that the violet and violet/black which are common at the holder has been grounded, so there should be signal on both wires when the respcective functions are initiated, check the output of the GREEN/ black with a meter for a ground pulse during lock activation, if you don't get any, you have a faulty unit!

Also make sure the harness has been inserted properly and all connections are proper!

Sorry i'm kinda new. How do I check for a ground pulse?
Use it as a ground and connect the other side to a 12v and press the button?

Yup! Connect the red lead to a constant twelve and connect the black lead to the GREEN/ black of the unit, when you lock the voltage should spike to twelve or there about and drop back to zero! If this doesn't happen the unit is faulty!

HAHA I feel so stupid, I figured it out. Apparently there IS a difference between GREEN and LIGHT GREEN. That will teach me to install things at 3am. Thanks for the troubleshooting tips, I wouldn't have found it otherwise!

I put a viper 211hv keyless entry in my prelude. The range is pretty short (like less than 20 feet). Can I extend the crappy little antenna wire up to the windshield and it work better?
