Hi I recently got a Viper 5901 installed with remote start on my 2010 Jetta. The remote start works fine but they could not get the Air Conditioner to turn on when the remote start is used. When I insert the key and turn it to the on postion, the a/c turns on in addition to the radio. They worked on it for hours and were able to find the wire that turns on the A/C when the remote start is used but when they tried to use it the car would just shut itself off. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well it's obvious that a wire at the ignition harness isn't being powered, these cars are data controlled and can be  tricky for persons attempting to rectify a problem themselves, i would reccomend going back to the shop and have them rectify the problem, if they can't you may have to locate someone who can!

I am debating taking it to bestbuy and letting one of their geek squad techs take a look at it. I doubt after 5+ hours troubleshooting the original place can get it fixed. I wish I knew a good installer in the NYC area to get it reapired. They showed me the dei install sheet and it gave zero information. If it was the ignition wire wouldn't the car accessories not turn on? Everything turns on inside the car (lights and the vents blow air), Except the A/C, rear defrost and the car radio. Thanks.

Possibly didn't use the correct by-pass/ CAN reader. Up to 05 2nd ign and radio were different circuits anyway. Your info is wrong, the 2 ignition circuits never had anything to do with the radio.

Thanks Howie. I will run that by them. That may be the issue because my car has a new radio that is touchscreen. I hope that solves the problem.

If you'd like you can bring it to our shop. We'll make sure we take care you. We are located in the bronx. (we are compustar pro dealers and solder all connections.) If it is the same as the 2009 then we have done it before and no issues at all. It only uses one ignition wire and everything is fine after that.

Thanks to enice from AudioMaxx in the Bronx, NYC for solving my problem. Took it in and they diagnosed my problem in 5 minutes! It looks like the place I originally had the alarm installed (a viper authorized dealer) completely miss-wired my 2010 Jetta. AudioMaxx rewired everything the correct way, soldered all the connections and reinstalled the alarm in a professional way. If anyone needs help in NYC area check out AudioMaxx in the Bronx. You will not be disappointed.
