I'm putting in a viper791 into a 97 Honda odyssey.anyone have the wiring for these cars and how do I hook up the door locks? I see they are negative. Do I need relays or just hook direct to viper? Thanks

I hooked everything up in my friends 97 odyssey. I put in a viper 791. It had an old remote start but I don't know what it was cause the brain was not there. I just hooked it up like the old one was. I checked and tested everything and it was all good. The first time I locked and unlocked they were fine then after that when I would arm the viper the locks just kept on locking one time after another for a good solid minute. He just got his door locks fixed cause they used to do this. He paid almost 500 to get them fixed. So I cut the lock wires off the viper and now when u lock it with the key they just keep on locking. What could have went wrong? I pulled the fuse for the power locks so I would not blow out the locks. How do I solve this?

You mean even if you pull the locks up by hand they would re-lock? If that's the case then the lock relay is either recieving a constant trigger or the relay is latched!

I didn't try it with the lock itself. If I press the lock button in the car, lock the door with the key on outside or on the viper ouch arm it would happen. It still does it even with the door lock outputs disconnected from the viper. I pulled the door lock fuse under the hood so the locks wouldn't burn out

Sounds like a latched relay, if you can locate the locking module we may be able to help you trouble shoot and [ossibly rewire the system with a couple aftermarket relays!

its not the unit. looks like the factory system on the vehicle is faulty. the door lock relay must be latched. find the relay and try tapping it. if it stops, the relay is sticky and we can show you how to rewire it.
