alarm goes off sometimes

I have an '03 Ram diesel. My remote start is a prostart w/ Xpress bypass that I put in over a year ago. As of a couple days ago, when I remote start the truck it kicks the security. It blasts the factory alarm (which I can turn off with the 'unlock') and then cranks but won't start. It works flawlessly with the keys, and the remote start issue only happens sometimes. Any suggestions? Or is the problem as simple a a bad bypass (but why would it only happen sometimes)?

Thanks

If it ain't broke...Maybe it should be!

OK...anyone have any idea's? Is it possible that it could be a 3rd party frequency causing the transponder to not work right, tripping the factory alarm?

is the bypass just for the transponder only or is it a full door lock/security/transponder bypass?

I've seen that on a Caravan before.
As you've discovered, if a Chrysler product sees someone trying to start it without a valid transponder, the factory alarm goes off.
Really hard to say if you have a bad relay in the bypass module, an intermittent connection from your remote starter, or what.
But the most likely thing if I had to guess would be that the ring around the key cylinder has come out of place or shifted around somehow.
I would go back to your ring, and try shifting it around and just kind of generally neatening it up a little, and see what you get.

Well I checked the ring. Looks OK or at least the same as before. Two wraps around...I even went in and "relearned" the bypass to the ECM. I'll give it a try and see if that cures it....I sort of doubt it will since I didn't really do anything. I am wondering if there is any possible chance that my tailights could cause it? I bought a set of LED tail lights and it seams that only occasionally they will flash when I open the interior door. Not too sure what thats all about but maybe if the remote start park light flash was back feeding that could have something to do with it? I guess if what I tried already doesn't fix it then I will put the stock lights back in and try that.

Well so far, so good. I guess relearning the bypass to the ECM worked. Haven't had a problem in a few days...

Thanks
