Hey,

I was wondering if there would be any issues mounting the antenna under the headliner, instead of on the glass, for a Viper 5901? The Valet button and LED wiring is cut (valet switch removed, external one plugged in for programming only, and external to the ant. LED mounted elsewhere) so I don't need physical access to it. My primary concern is range, so I'm just curious if anyone has done this before. I hate having that ugly antenna on the window which is why I want to mount it elsewhere..

Thanks,

-Dave

Mounting it elsewhere is not a problem it may decrease range,  not significantly noticeable at first, but as time passes it will!

Well finished routing the antenna tonight and reinstalled headliner and other upper interior panels.

Tested the range, with the car in the garage anywhere on my street it works (probably 1/8" mile), once I get two full houses in between (either by going to the front yard of the house behind mine, or going down to houses and walking to their backyard) it doesn't work, but that's not surprising considering what's in the middle I guess.

If anything changes I'll report back just in case anyone else ever wants to ask this question.
