I installed a Viper 5301 in a 2006 Honda Element (with your members help) and now 6 months later the battery died in the two-way remote. I replaced battery but now the horn beeps a third time (usually only beeps twice)when unlocking doors after a 3 second delay, and the remote flashes a red LED (two flashes)by the function button and beeps(two two-tone beeps). I can't find any procedure in the installation guide for what to do after a battery replacement and I'm reluctant to start mucking about and mess things up, as everything is still working. I just checked the remote start and it works but also does the two two-tone beeps and two red LED flashes on the remote. Thanks in advance for any suggestions?

Well, I just found out that the extra beep and flashes indicate a low battery even though the replacement was a new battery from DEI. Will try a different battery and see what happens.

Problem solved with the correct battery. DEI sent two battery packs, one was a 2032 for the 1-way and the other was a pair of 2016 batteries which are what the 2-way remote requires. Well, of course I put the 2032 battery in the 2-way and it was indicating low battery. I noticed that it was a single battery instead of the pair that came out of the remote, but I assumed that DEI had just sent an upgraded battery. Hope someone else may benefit from my mistake. Thanks for a great resource.
