Hi guys,

Just today I installed a rmeote start in my Dads Nissain Quest 2001.

I just noticed that the Transmission shift position light is not working on the dash. I am talkign about the light that shows if the transmission is in netural, drive, e.t.c. All the other lights are working fine on the dash. I have checked all the fuses and they are fine. Does anyone know which wire is for the Shift indicator light. Thanks.

Disconnect Negative terminal of Battery. Wait 5 min. reconnect. start car with key.

1) is selector light on? if yes(hopefully) the turn off key wait 30 sec then remote start vehicle

is light still on? yes-- problem fixed

no-- there is most likely a wire your not energizing when remote starting

double check your 2nd ign wire

did you actually hook up the nuetral safety switch to the nuetral safety wire? if so remove it

                             and just ground it out.

also check the harness at the gear selector switch is secure

if none of this helps you the then hit us back with the name and model alarm system you installed

also list which wires you used on it and list any complications you had while installing the alarm

all this info will better help us to diagnose you problem.

Also if you figure it out let us know what it was please?  Thanx and good luck

Is this a single light the moves with the selector, if so probably single bulb, disconnected/failed or check any plugs around the base of the gearshift.
