Hi,

This is my first post.  I have a question about my vehicle, it is a 69 Chevy pick up.  I am installing an Omega REC-12 keyless entry system and it has a light flashing polarity selection.  My question is about the polarity of my light circuitry, is it (-) or (+)?  I think it is (+) but I am not 100% sure.  The dome light pin switch grounds the circuit and turns the light off when the door is closed, this is the reason for my uncertainty.

Well if you're talking parking light flash.. on Chevy most are +dark brown or brown wire at the headlight switch. You can double check and probe a volt meter into the wires at the switch to verify. You can probably trace the wire down to a more suitable location to make the connection. Your door trigger should be -white for that application. Although most chevys I have done needed a relay to drive the parking light circuit as it drew more amps then alarm circuit could supply.

Thanks for the reply.  So from what is posted above I think I understand...the light circuitry is postive polarity, so i would select (+) polarity (the instructions tell me to connect a particular wire to the RED(+) wire to make it postive polarity and connect it to the BLACK(-) wire for negative polarity.

There are 2 wires for the domelight supervision This is what is printed in the manual:

"By default, these wires will turn on the vehicles interior lights for 30 seconds after unlocking by the transmitter.  Connect the FUSED wire to either +12v or ground, depending on the fehicles light circuit requirements.  Connect the NON-FUSED wire to the domelight circuit in the car."

So would I hook the FUSED wire to +12v source or ground?

You manual should state that info... the polarity of your door circuit determines whether the other connection of the on board relay connects to ground or 12v. Generally if the door circuit/dome light circuit is neg- it connects to ground. If it is pos+ it connects to 12v fused source. So to conclude..your dome light circuit is negative so you will connect the alarm wire to ground.. for light flash you will be connecting Red to the BROWN / dark brown wire. You can hopefully make these connections at the fuse box. Let me know how it works out
