I recently bought a 2008 Tundra that came equipped with a remote start.   I bought it used and didnt realize it had one until I got it home.
When I press the 'start' button twice on the remote, the truck begins to turn over, but it never starts. If I put the key in the ignition, and turn it to ACC, and remote start it, it starts right up. I'm not sure what it could be? Immobilzer, ignition wire? Someting along those lines.
I opened up the dash yesterday and found out that the model of the starter is a XR6900. I cannot for the life me find the install diagram for this thing anywhere! I need to know the wiring diagram so I can start tracing everything back and see where the problem is.
Does anyone have the wiring or install diagram or manual anywhere for this thing? I believe the XR9000 might be a similar wiring setup as well.
Any help you can give me would greatly appreciated!!

As far as your problem, sounds like the immobilizer...You need to find out which type of bypass was used.   Read the sticky on key immobilizers and remote starting as a primer.

As far as the manual, I would go to the Audiovox site and go under customer service.  Set up an account, and request the installation manual for the XR6900.   They will email it to you usually within a day.

If the RS works with just placing the key in the ignition(not turning to accessory) LG is correct that the RS is working properly and the immobilizer is the issue. Lookfor another module under the dash, with wires leading to the tip of the key cylinder.
