Im going to be installing a 2-way remote starter. No alarm. I was on the DEI Xpresskit site and put in the year, make, and model. It gave me a few different choices, but nothing im looking for. Theres a few door lock modules listed and then transponder override modules. Im looking for something that does both. I found the XpressKit DLPKCHG2 http://www......com/item_17316_XpressKit+DLPKCHG2.html, which wasnt listed when I entered in the year, make, and model. Will this module control both the door locks and be able to remote start it?

Also, its an Autopage remote starter. I know the data cable that comes with the Xpresskits dont plug in. Will all the functions still work if I hardwire the module?

Thanks.

xk531 will do doorlocks and transponder but you need 2 keys to program.

I recently did one with the iDatalink ADS DL loaded with the ADS DL CH6 firmware.  Does everything, alarm, locks and bypass.  Worked like a champ!

Only minor issue is if the Grand Cherokee has the factory alarm.  The iDatalink arms and disarms with the lock and unlock signals from the remote start.  Have to set it up for unlock before start and lock after start.

I like to go W2W and I am not familiar with Autopage units, so I'm not sure if they can go D2D.

Soldering is fun!

Thanks. Thats a discontinued model. But I found a bunch on Ebay. That helped because I just realized that the DLPKCHG1 is the replacement model of the xk531. I think im going with the new model, just in case I have to flash it. Im not sure if my Xkloader2 will flash the xk531 if it needs to be. Dont really wanna take a chance on it either.

Im not that familiar with Autopage either Kreg. Installed my first one not long ago. But it does have a data port. Just read the Autopage installation manual and it says to use idatalink modules ONLY. Idatalink is right on the Autopage website.

Did you have to flash that idatalink module kreg?

Guess im not going with the Xpress kits.....

The ADS DL bypass is a "Multi Series" module.  It comes from the factory with no firmware on it.  You would need the ADS-USB cable to flash it with the correct firmware.  I use them because of the flexibility, one module that can handle many cars.

The iDatalink "Solo" series comes pre-loaded with firmware.  The ADS ALSL CH would be the correct Solo series module for your Jeep.  Follow the install guide Section C, Type 1 instructions.

BTW, if you want to find those models on Xpresskits website you have to select "all products" as the DLPKCHG1 & 2 are already Disco as well.....

Are they really discontined too? Its listed under "retired products". Didnt know you could select all products either. Thanks. Neither DLPKCHG1 & 2 are listed when you select all products.......weird.

Ill keep that in mind. I dont really wanna spend the money on the flash cable. Im using just Xpress kits at the moment. I wanna use Flash Logic modules soon too. Im really familiar with those.
