viper 5901 activating passive arm

so i read a thread on here earlier relating to the passive arming but i wanted to know how to activate the passive arming. my friend installed the 5901 on my car, it does work lol and everything seems to work great. i havent had any problems but i want the passive arm feature to work. but i cant find it any where in the manual. it says it can be programmed, or that it should be the default on the alarm but doesnt work. i wanted to know if anyone knows how to activate this and the option to where the locks automatically arm after turning on the car. i see them on the manual but dont say how to activate them, any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Actually the default is ACTIVE arming, passive is a real no no, just leave your keys in the car when you go to pay for gas etc. late at night. NEVER EVER activate passive arm and lock, it's lazy and stupid. I always get my customers to sign a waiver if they want it and I've earned lots of money rescuing the idiots.

not that im that lazy i think its jus a convenience feature i have forgotten them twice in the car but i have extras. plus i also carry a spare for the body in my wallet since i have one of those chevys i need one for the body and another for the engine. thanks t&t tech i will give it a try in a bit and get back to you guys.

I guess if you have an ignition lock barrel that is like the VW ones, you have to remove your keys to turn the accessory wire off (and have ignition of alarm wired to this) then you have to remove your keys for the doors to auto unlock, all you have to do then is remember to put the keys in your pocket.

Forgot to mention, the only downside to this approach is you would need to remove and reinsert the key to do the one time passive arm disable.

So I did as t & t tech suggested and it worked! Although I didn't have a menu to tell me what to do after I got in that menu I guessed and hit the lock button once. Then the alarm chirped quick and got out of the car closed the door and waited. And did lock the car in its own! Sweet thanks a lot!

its ok i didnt have a menu i just have the manual that came with the unit.
