I have a 07 BMW 328i and I want to install a Viper 5702 alarm remote start or a viper 5902 alarm remote start. Since from what I can tell on the data sheet for my car, most of the wires are low voltage. So do I need to use a bunch of resistors or what? I can't afford to test all these wires and risk messing up my BMW like some of the other alarms I have installed.
Also since with the factory alarm on the car I can hold the unlock button and it opens all my windows and sunroofs. Can I tie this into my viper remote? Or do I need to buy the power window module control?
Thanks for any replies.

Then Don't install the system. Every car can be done properly having the right parts and tools. In this case you should not use any type of resistors in order for the system to work.
If you are using a DEI system then you MUST use the following:
1. A KIBMW Module.
2. A DLKP Module.
Follow the instructions exactly and you should have Zero problems. If you still don't feel comfortable then do not do the vehicle and take it to a reputable shop to do the installation.

Can't afford to test wires????? Your doing it wrong! You can't afford to not test the wires. Time to bring it to a pro.

Amen to the above 2 posts and it's not resistors but DIODES. Alarm = low voltage, car = low voltage, I think you are referring to DATA systems (high speed fault tolerant CAN) but Enice already mentioned them.
These parts will add about $400 to the cost of the alarm, from the way you asked the questions do not attempt this install on your own.

Ok so I don't need to use any resistors, just maybe some diodes. Should be an easy install then.
Enice: do those modules bypass the factory alarm? Will it allow me to keep using the auto down windows with my Viper remote?

Of course it will be easy and I'm sure you can do it yourself.
The only way you'll get auto down is through a couple of 530t s on the motor wires from the BCM.
Once again from your answer I strongly urge urge you NOT to try this yourself.

The module should provide all the comfort features but if I am not mistaken the CANMAXX400 does the window up and down features via aux. I don't think the DLKP does that. I would check if the door locks can be controlled throught the key cylinder in the door and from there test to see if the window goes up and down depending on which side you turn the key cylinder in. BTW that feature if it does work it would only work with the car off.
