First of all I am not a car electronics technician, but I do a lot of machine wiring on daily basis and I am a big do it yourself kind of guy. I have used the search function and read some info, I have printed up the schematics for the 95 Astro, I have printed the diagram from here and I have the owners manual (if you want to call it that) for the scytek 2000rs. I removed the kick panel, the lower dash and spent some time looking at everything but I still am baffled on a few things....
one is the door locks... there is nothing under the drivers side kick panel like everything so far has stated. The door jamb boot wires go into the car dash way up high where it can't be seen, What kind of door locks does this have? Where do I tie in? It says lt blue and black... My outputs are 500ma and the vehicle does not have keyless entry? Is the 500ma a 12v output? If so I shouldn't need a relay...or do I and why?
Next I see the purple wire (starter) on top of the steering column in the worst possible location and the harness has absolutely no slack, I see some people have found this in the SIR circuit bundle. I'm thinking of trying to drop the steering column, any body else done this? I also see that all the wires on the ignition switch are 10ga wires is there an easier place to splice in? Does anyone have a schematic of an alarm system spliced to this vehicle?
Please help I'm ready to do this tonight or tomorrow so I can have it done for my wifes birthday this Saturday.
thanks, Matt
