2004 Ion......5 speed standard......with power locks

I installed autostart 1455 with Idatalink ADS-ALSL-GM

followed diagrams...used the data connection wire(RS to Module).....even added the RAP shutdown.

Starter works....but here's my questions:

1. Power locks don't work with car motor running....don't even make the click sound. Work fine when motor is off.

2. If I remote start car.....put key in and drive away, the led on the ADS flashes. I know it's supposed to flash during remote start......but what about driving?

Do I need to connect the ground out while running wire on the remote start to something? Or is this normal?

Other than that, everything seems fine.

Also, all the posts on this forum were of great help in this job.

Yes
MODE 3 (* indicates default setting)
FUNCTION 1 – Ready Mode Option
OPTION 2* Enabled by remote
FUNCTION 2 – Bypass
OPTION 1 ADS
FUNCTION 3 – Bypass Type
OPTION 1 One Way communication
Also, on the RS remote.....trunk button doesn't open trunk with car off or running.
It's been like this a year.....I wasn't at all concerned about RS remote not working door locks when motor is running (thru remote start or regular start with key). I just assumed it had something to do with OEM security or something. What got me thinking is that I noticed light is always flashing after remote start and I put key in and drive away. Light is not flashing if I don't put car in "ready mode" and start with key.
As I said.......car starts fine with RS.....goes into ready mode no problem......and after restudying manual....I discovered I can put in ready mode....remove key....get out.....press trunk button...and car will go into idle mode. Trunk button works for this.
I installed it, had a friend....GM mechanic for 20 years......who does numerous installs as a sideline.....check all my connections....and he thinks its all good. He assumes it's related to car security.....or possibly a glitch in the autostart. He even tried another ADS module(same model)....took it out again...reflashed it....same thing.
I did notice that you've done Ions, and I read all this last Jan before I put it in. That's why I'm asking if it's normal. I do know from your posts you used a different ADS module than I did.
Hard wiring I did....from RS unit to car
1st harness
Yellow ignition....to blue ignition on car
two red power....Power wires on PS pump
orange Accessories......brown on ignition
Purple start.....solenoind side of clutch switch
2nd harness
BLACK ........................ GROUND
2- PURPLE ........................... TACH (AC)
3- GREY ................. HOOD SWITCH (-)
4- ORANGE ........ BRAKE SWITCH (+)
5- YELLOW ....... PARKIN LIGHTS (+)
3 third harness
11- GREY ..(-) NEG. Door input to Driver door pin (diode protected)
8- ORANGE ........................... (-) Parking Brakes input
4- WHITE/ BROWN ................. (-) REARM output (driver doorpin for RAP stutdown diode protected)
and D2D wire to ADS
ADS module
The D2D wire to RS
Accessory wire to brown on car ignitiom
and of course the passlock wires....and thats worked fine...no security time outs ions are known for.
Now that I put all this down.....Maybe I SHOULD NOT have used bigger access. wire on Remote starter to Brown igntion...I think I did.
So maybe I have 2 accessory wires (1 from ADS) going to brown ignition. I'll double check tommorrow.
If I have 2....maybe it's giving feedback.

Trunk release doesn't work for Ion's. You will need to use relay and attach to BLACK/ WHITE wire at the switch. As far as the ADS-ALSL-GM, do you know what version firmware you have ? I just did an 04 Ion and I used the Blade-AL and door locks & OEM alarm controls worked, but no trunk release.

No, sorry I don't. When my friend reflashed it, I stayed out in his garage.
