I'll be installing a remote start in a 2002 Nissan Sentra. The vehicle wiring charts I have show a second starter wire. The wiring diagram for the car doesn't show this.

Is this car even equipped with one? I haven't taken the car apart and looked at the wiring yet.

The poster's comment "is the vehicle even equipped with one" boggles the mind. Mike, you know where this is going don't you.

Unless IAAI has his crystal ball handy we'll never know for sure.

Grab your tech sheet and your volt meter and check it out.  If it is there, hook it up, if it isn't there do not worry about it.

What i would like to know is what's the difference between a "vehicle wiring chart" and a "wiring diagram for the car"....

Mike I could be facetious and say a chart is not a diagramme, the correct term is wiring diagramme. Why do these amateurs ask all these deep meaningless questions sometimes weeks before they even lay their hands on the car to actually test before making in this case a stupid statement? If in 3 weeks time our poster would have said "I've found a second starter wire, this is my car this is my R/S, how do I enable the second starter" I'm sure we'd have helped him/her without the cynicism.

Yes it has a second starter wire that you must connect or the car will have trouble starting in very cold weather. If your remote starter doesn't have a second starter output you will need to wire a relay to power that wire. Click on the relay link to the left side of this page for instructions on how to wire the relay.
