I purchased a factory reconditioned viper 5901b to install in my 1993 Buick Park Avenue. I don't know what the b means, but I am hoping that this unit is ok. I was just reading about the high failure rate of the 5901.

I need some instructions to help me with this install please. There are wire colors posted for a 1994 buick park avenue. I wonder if they are the same?

I also did not order anything to bypass the vats. Can anyone guide me to some instructions and if I should order something or simply pick up the necessary resistors and relay. The easier the better for me.

If I hooked up the necessary resistors without the relay to make the resistors only work when the remote start is active what happens when the key with the resistor on it is used. Would this be double the resistance and cause a problem?

Thanks in advance

The B stands for "B stock" or refurbished, new product from DEI is A stock. It still should have a lifetime warranty, so you shouldnt have anything to worry about.

For wiring info 93 & 94 are the same.

For VATS you can get yourself a PLJX for around $25-$35 or just wire up the relay and resistor (probably $5 or so).

Thanks glad to hear that 93 and 94 are the same. Also thanks for the explanation on the b and I was wondering if it would have warranty. I hope so. I paid $160 for it so if it works out it was cheap enough.
