2005 gmc canyon remote start

Hi all! First post for me, however I have been using the great advice of this forum for over a year now and you guys really seem to know your stuff. SO here's my dilemma/questions: I purchased a clearance remote start unit for my girlfriends canyon and am going to install it as an xmas gift, however, the model purchased is for a manual transmission and the same style for use with Auto OR Manual is $180 more. So i have decided to keep this one and work with it as I can. The remote starter in question is a ProStart CT-3460TW, the model that has the option for both is a CT-3471, and the only thing you do to enable automatic transmission is cut a little yellow wire, which i happend to find in the same place inside the CT-3460TW. ALL that aside I want to know if this sounds like a viable option? Can i trick the unit into believing i have a clutch bypassed? I have no idea how i could only work for manual transmission as it says right in the book you need a clutch relay... Also... I just ordered the DB-ALL bypass combo so that I dont have to mess around with diodes for the door locks. I hasnt arrived yet but can anyone speculate on install difficulty? I know my way around a car but have never enjoyed electrical. Thanks ahead of time!! Oh! and I would also like to know if the Data to Data works with my CT-3460 as I cant find the documentation for that anywhere (xpresskits website and all)

OK, you want to install a manual transmission remote start system into a 2005 Canyon with an automatic trans.  I am not familiar with the ProStart brand to be able to say if cutting the jumper will convert it over to automatic mode. 

It would appear that you should be able to install it and have it work without cutting the jumper.  You would have to make all the connections as if it were a manual trans vehicle.  Specifically the Emergency brake input, the Door Pin input and the Tach signal input.  The clutch bypass would not be necessary ( there is no clutch and no interrupt to the vehicles starter circuit ).  You would have to go thru the Ready Mode process and accept the cancellation rules.  

While there is a DataPort, I am not sure if the ProStart unit can go D2D with the DB-ALL bypass.   The install is very easy - very few wires to connect.  Instead of connecting to the ignition harness in the steering column there is a connector under the dash with easy access.  Here is a picture.
