pkall issues

I am installing a Viper 5501 remote start unit in my 2010 F-150. I wired everything on the remote start unit first and it works flawlessly as it should as long as I keep a key in the ignition for the PATS. I left the programing of the module to the last. And well its not working at all. I am the first owner of the truck and have the 2 keys from the factory. I have tried the programing mode every way I could think of went over the wiring loads of times. Tired changing the ignition wire to +12 and swapping the RX and TX lines with still no luck. Also tried it with and with out the D2D hook up. I have done this job before on a 2004 with success. So I am thinking I may need to update the firm ware? It says Hardware v2 and Software V4.04 is there anyway of checking if this will work with my truck? I have no way of flashing the unit either. Another thing I am thinking but I am quite sure isn't it but could the keys be clones there for not 2 different keys? Any Help would be great TIA

Could be an 80 kit key.  Is there a SA or HA stamped on the key blade?  Soldering is fun!

I got lucky on the 2010 F150 I did.  It was a standard 40 bit key...    

I am not sure about DEI or Fortin, but the last I heard if it was an 80 Bit key and the truck was an 80 bit vehicle, then it was a "key in the box" solution.  There are some aftermarket sources for 80 Bit Ford keys.  You could buy a blank and program it to the truck and place it in the box, uncut.  They program just like the 40 Bit keys.

So I guess its the DEI 556UW That I am going to need?

I would give DEI a call to verify the 80 Bit issue with the PKALL.  I use and am more familiar with iDatalink products.  The 556UW will work but you lose a key.Soldering is fun!
