Hi,
This is my first go round with installing a Viper system in a vehicle. I've done some remote starters in the past (AudioVox) but this is my first encounter doing a full security and remote start system. I have a couple of questions in regards to the Viper/Xpresskit D2D connections.
I have the following components:
Viper 5701 Security and Remote Starter
XpressKit KILRV Immobilizer Bypass
XpressKit DLPK CANBUS Doorlock interface
I've read the instructions cover to cover and I understand the basic wiring setup as far as connections to the vehicle. My question is about the D2D interface between devices. I want to know if I hook up the D2D between the various components do I also need to hook up the individual wire to wire connections. For instance in the DLPK manual it indicates the following connections to the security system:
WHITE/ Red - Trunk Trigger
Violet/White - Tach
Blue/White - Running Status
Light green - Lock
Pink - Ignition
Green - Door Trigger
Blue - Unlock
RED / White -Trunk Pop
But if i am using the harness that came with the KILRV it looks like I can connect all 3 devices to D2D and I assume that means I can leave off the Wire to wire connections. Am I correct in that assumption or not?
Thanks!
