I used to install in my younger days, but the newer cars/technology is a little outside my grasp. I'm hoping someone her can provide me more help than DEI has.  Anyway,  here's the story:

I am installing a Python 1601 security + remote start in a 2004 dodge ram 1500. I have the DLPKCHG-1 XpressKit connected via D2D with the Python. As far as I know, the alarm is wired correctly, as is the Xpresskit, however, the truck isn't starting. I'm getting 7 flashes from the status LED, which indicates Timer mode/turbo mode/manual mode error. I didn't connect the remote start turbo timer activation input. Is that necessary, and where does it go?

In additon, the xpresskit is supposed to provide tach, door locks and door pins via D2D. When I arm the alarm, the siren chirps, the lights blink but no door lock. However, when I open the doors it triggers the alarm, so I know it's at least monitoring door pins. When I disarm the alarm, the doors will unlock. I just don't understand why it would unlock but not lock the doors when it is a 1 wire system. Any ideas?

I really appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks,

J

locking the door and watching it open are different things. door pin covers the opening, lock or arming does the other. at least should.

well first program it to automatic mode if your vehicle is automatic. then let us know what your actual issues are afterwards.
