i noticed on the idatalink product that it has wires for the security light however the xk05 doesnt. The security light in the car stays on while driving but everything seems normal. The programming and installation went smooth. No clue what this means if anything. The car in particular is a 03 maxima however im sure most nissan have it. Should i be concerned if everything seems normal?

I don't believe it will hurt anything, but it is a nuisance - especially at night.  As per the iDatalink guide, this Security Light only comes on cars equipped with factory theft security.

BTW, the PKALL ( a re-badged Fortin module ) handles the security light just like the iDatalink modules.  Also and there is a clear difference in the install guides between DEI and iDatalink & Fortin ( i.e., detailed, complete, easy to follow, and includes wire colors ).

Soldering is fun!
