Installing an Audiovox PRO9232b add-on security system to a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 with factory keyless entry. Its a cheap/basic alarm and an easy install, however in order to access the programming modes I have to have the key on. With the key on factory transmitters won't work, so I can't change any of the settings. This kit relies on the factory transmitters and have no aftermarket ones. Any ideas?

Try using the door lock switch instead.

Tried the power lock switch already. Didn't work.

Temporarily hook up a momentary switch to the wire that monitors the actuator leg. Have you tried it with the door shut, or the other remote that came with the truck?

I just did a 2007 Ram the other day, The key that is in the ignition will not work for keyless. While you have 1 key in the ignition use your spare key to control keyless functions. The car disables the keyless function on the key in the ignition but doesn't disable the keyless function on your second key.

Thanks for the replies guys. The customer didn't have another key fob. I just simulated the ignition by manually hooking into a constant 12v source and it did the trick. Don't know why I didn't think of that earlier.
