smartstart in my 2008 f350

Hello Guys,

I have had my truck for 6months and now that its getting cold i want to install a command start.

I have done a few command starts over the years but im a little rusty!

The truck came with an old AstroFlex starter that was acting up and the previous owner never had the system looked at, so i will be replacing it with a Directed Electronis Smart Start brain.

The model i picked up is a ASSC4000.  It looks like a basic brain with a Smart Start module that you connect externally.

The issue i have is how do i activate this system? and can i program this system to work on a diesel without having purchased the remotes for the unit since they were extra?

SmartStart Activation for DEI unit.

Can someone please help me with this?

I have the Air ID and want to activate the SmartStart system for my truck and i am having no luck with Directed or the Dealer.

Alrite, I spent some time on this issue and figured it out.

I believe in the US you can use DEI1 and DEI1 on the dealer login area.

but of the canadian i used this document and it worked great!

I am now activated and i was able to track down this document with google search!

Neither the manufacture or dealer were able  to help me without charging me money.
