remote start

Hello everyone. I have recently (last nite) installed a RS300 remote start in my wife's 2005 Toyota 4runner with the additional PKT2 Transponder. I have done many remote start installs before,...but none requiring the transponder due to the older age of the vehicles. After installing the system, I can remote start the vehicle with the RS remote no problem. However if I lock her vehicle with her factory remote and then try to remote start the alarm goes off. I have done some reading online and I didn't make any connections to the GREEN/ YELLOW keysense wire on the vehicle. I'm not sure if that's where my problem lies by disabling the factory alarm prior to remote starting? If so, what wire do I connect to the keysense wire? My vehicle diagram says it is a (-). I have a yellow/ white wire on the RS output called Aux (-) output. Is that the wire I need to connect to the keysense wire on the vehicle? Hope i have made this clear. Thanks a ton! Chris

My original remote start instructions are so hard to read that I just noticed a 3 pin header on the RS unit that has a wire for 1. Glow plug 2. Factory disarm 3. Aux start input So now I'm thinking I need to connect the factory disarm wire to the keysense wire on the vehicle? Thanks again.

There should be wire marked "status output" or GWR. One of these should be feeding your by-pass. If there is only one, make a "Y" connection inserting 2 x 1N4004 diodes in the arms of the "Y" with the diode bands towards the R/S.

Yes I have a GWR blue/black (-) output wire on the RS unit. I have that connected to the brown GWR INPUT wire on the PKT2 bypass.

Then connect it as I explained above.

Ok so you split the GWR wire from the RS unit into two wires,...place a diode in each one and connect one to the bypass feed, what about the other one. ____________DIODE_________> to bypass feed RS unit GWR wire -----------<               _____________DIODE_________> ?

You've already asked and been answered, better still, search Toyota keysense on this site, this question has been asked and answered dozens of times. Giving the keysense a neg whilst the R/S is engaged disables the factory alarm. If your R/S locks and unlocks the car, why are you using the factory remotes ?
