Vehicle  = 2004 Jeep Liberty

Alarm/Remote Start = Viper 5701

Bypass unit = XpressKit / Omega CHDL4P

Admittedly I screwed up on the initial installation and tried to wire the Viper and the Bypass in parallel (instruction book did not help from either part). However I have the vehicle working with one exception, The Bypass is not sending the disarm signal out.

I have figured out my mistake as being the Bypass unit should be hooked up to the D2D connector of the Viper.

Problem: The Bypass unit has 5-pin connector and the Viper has a 4 pin connector

Question: Which wire goes to which pin on the Viper Unit (I can wire up a 4 pin harness if I know the viper pin coding. The Bypass has Red (12v), Black (Ground), and Brown (Data) and then 2 open pins.

Please help I have searched the Net for days with no luck beyond peoples comments that the wires have to be connected.

 The Omega CHDL4P has a 5 pin connector that plugs into the D2D as a one way TX line. So the Viper can tell the Bypass unit to do certain functions.

I solved the problem. The TX wire is the 3rd wire off the viper D2D connection. So it looks like this: 12v, Ground, TX, and  ?  (Would assume RX). I cut one end of the 5-pin plug down to turn it into a 4 pin plug.

The Viper now works to remote start the Jeep.

thanks for all the posting on the forum, they helped.
