Hello.  I just recently joined the forum and am having issues with my first Remote Start install.  I have a 2006 Ford F150.

I was given a Viper 5701 and PKFM for Christmas and tried to wire it all up today and this is what I get.

The remote communicates to the 5701, I hear the 5701 click and when I arm, the LED flashes steadily.  But I do not get the doors to lock or unlock.  It will not start either.

Here is what I have wired up:

H1/2 to LG/P constant

H1/3 to Black Siren wire

H1/5 to ground

< size=3 face=Calibri>

H3/1 to DB/G Ignition wire

< size=3 face=Calibri>

Remote Start Input (5-pin) B/W to Ground

No hood pin yet

I have connected the PKFM with D2D and also connected the following

Pin 2 to Pin 3 on PATS

Pin 7 to Pin 4 on PATS

Pin 8 to Pin 1 on PATS

That is all I have connected and from what I can tell, that should take care of it right?  Shouldn't the PKFM control all the door lock wires and lights or am I just ignorant?  I truly need help.  The truck starts just fine with the keys but I cannot get anything out of the system.  Like I said, no locks, start, anything.  Please help!

The PKFM bypass module, after it is properly programmed, will only fool the trucks' PATS engine immobilizer system into thinking that a valid transponder key is near the ignition switch antenna.  That is all it does.  It is controlled by the Viper to turn on and off at the correct time.

The Viper still needs to be connected to the trucks door lock and unlock wire, the door triggers, the parking light wire, the brake pedal wire, all of the trucks ignition wires, the tach signal wire, etc....

These wire listings might be different from one to another.  They are only guides.  You will need a Digital Multi Meter to safely locate , test and verify the correct wires.  Connecting to the wrong wire can have serious consequences.

This site has a wire guide listing for your truck in the "Vehicle Wiring" section.  Also, the search function is your friend.  There are several previous posts on your truck.  This site has basic info on relays and diodes that might come in handy.  The install, after research, prep and actual install / testing will probably take 6 to 8 hours.

Good Luck!

Soldering is fun!
