I installed a Compustar 1bam-900sh remote start on a 2007 mazda cx7. I installed this for the remote start only because of the small, 1 button remote, keeping the factory key fob for the door lock and unlock. The compustar works fine but the factory key fob only unlocks the driver's door under remote start. When I unlock the vehicle when it's not remote started, it works fine. Does anyone have a idea why? Is it a programmimg issue, or something I have to deal with because I used the compustar for remote start only?

Thanks

This is probably a feature of the vehicle. Prior to installing the remote start did you ever start the vehicle with a key and try to use the other remote? I am pretty certain you will see that it behaves the same way. To be honest I am surprised the remote opens the drivers door when running, most import vehicles just stop responding when the vehicle is running.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

had the same problem when i did my uncles cx7 but it wasnt a big deal for him as he uses the compustar pro 2way remote more than the key fob itself.

I never tried starting with the key and using the other remote honestly. I think I'm going to try that tonite actualy. Just to see what happens. I didn't even wire the door lock side of the compustar up. Just using it for remote start only. The vehicle has the switchblade key, which is why my girlfriend wanted the 1 button compustar remote. It's nice and small and she didn't want another key fob. I have been searching everywhere and seem to get the same response.
