2004 Cavalier, std
I have followed the procedure to enter programming mode, and then tried to pair the remotes, (ignition on,off, hold lock button) I have also used the method it suggests under troubleshooting (switching ignition on for 2 secs, then off on off.) all that happens is that the park lights shut off after 20 secs while the transmitter is flashing away. I have tried 2 separate units on the same install and both act the same. (2 modules, and antenna) so only the car side wiring and connectors are the same.
So it would appear that it is either wiring or an incorrect transmitter programming procedure.
I can enter and exit valet mode using the key method ... so it appears to work alright ...
the parking lights flash correctly, the antenna is plugged in, (although there is no blinking light on the antenna unit?) the remote indicates that it is transmitting, i have also successfully reset the unit using the key on off sequence and brakes so it appears everything should be connected properly ... ?
Any ideas? I have searched for hours on the net with little success, actually that's how i found this site! I followed a different post unfortunately it didn't work for me.
Thanks in advance :-)

all the prostart units i have done require you to "flash the hood pin" not an ignition on/off sequence

OK well the procedure I followed was,
Put the unit into programming mode... open hood,(park lights flash) press pin for 4 seconds, release pin,(park lights come on) quickly press and release pin again, now the park lights will stay on for 20 seconds...
To program the remotes... it says to turn the ignition key on then off. (park lights go out for approx 6 secs then come back on for approx 20secs) Then press the lock key on the remote until the siren chirps once and the park lights flash 5 times (i think 5?)... its supposed to take less than 20 secs total, I have tried one long press and multiple presses ...
In the trouble shooting section it says to try and turn ignition on for 2 secs, then off, then on off again, i tried this also with no luck!
Is that the method you use? If not could you tell me how you do it? Because this way doesn't seem to work! and at the moment it seems like the procedure is the problem ...

So after some more searching and reading I discovered that the antenna led should flash while it is working Iike programming etc ... I had 2 units and neither one would flash the antenna led ... Even though the unit appeared to be responding ... It was not grtting any signal from the remotes... I threw in a ct3271 and boom ... Right away it was working led an all!!! Locks start etc ...!!!!
So hopefully this will save some one else a lot of greif! Make sure the led lights up on your antenna !!!!!!

Just for the benefit of everyone I will post the reply from technical support ...

Hi,
Only 4 wires are needed to program a remote. 12v(both red wires on the 6 pin connector), ignition(yellow wire on the 6 pin connector), ground(black wire on the 5 pin connector) and hoodpin(grey wire on the 5 pin connector). To enter programming mode, press the hoodpin switch 3 seconds and release. While the parking lights are on, press and release 1 more time. The parking lights will stay "On" for 20 seconds. Make sure the lights do not turn off after 5 seconds. Cycle ignition on, then off and press and hold lock until you get 5 flashes from the parking lights.
If the remote still does not program, either the remote or antenna are not
compatible(parts have been swapped in the box) or one is defective.
