evo all won't program

New member here posting for the first time. I am installing an Avital 4103 Remote Start with the Fortin EVO-ALL in my 2006 Honda Accord and I am having problems getting the EVO-ALL to program. It has the most current firmware installed and I've gotten the most recent installation instructions from their website. To program the EVO-ALL it says to press and hold the program button and connect the 4 pin connector (just a 12v and ground). It says that the red light will light up and then to let go of the programming button. I am unable to even get the red light to light up following these instructions. I connected the 12v power line on the EVO-ALL to the 12v red wire of the Avital 4103 which is connected to the white wire (battery) of the ignition harness. The ground is connected to an existing ground that Honda used. It won't program, what am I missing? If I connect all of the plugs of the Avital 4103 and the EVO-ALL and press the lock or unlock button on the remote the parking lights on the car flash and the lights on the EVO-ALL also flash. Since they flash when I do that I believe that the power and ground are connected correctly. Could I have a bad unit? Thanks for any advice in advance.

Try reprogramming to an older firmware instead and try again.Jeff

Good suggestion. I'll have to bring it back to where I bought it and have them put on an older firmware. The wiring should be correct the way I have it though right? I'm going to head back to where I bought the bypass module in the morning and I'll post an update as to what I discover.

Turns out the ground wire got caught on a piece of metal in the dash and it was cut and needed to be reconnected. The module programmed right up. I still don't understand how the lights flashed on it when it was all connected with the remote start when the ground was cut. All set, thanks for the help.

sometimes you can get a residual ground through other wires that are hooked up. it not good enough to program or it will loss the ground when the ignition is turned on, but enough power to make the led flash.

That would make sense. All hooked up and working like a charm in this cold NH winter we're having.
