Hey folks, I just installed a Ultra Start 1272 in a 2004 Silverado with a Duramax engine. It is a completely base model 2 door and doesn't even have keyless entry. Anyway... 2 question;
1. There is alot on the forum with not using the wait to start wire so I didn't hook it up. I tried to set a 20 second delay in the programming options but it doesn't seem to do anyting (I think this may be because the blue wait to start wire isn't hooked to anything. It still starts but I am worried that if it gets super cold that 3 seconds won't be enough time for the plugs to heat. Any ideas how to get the delay to work?
2. The locks are the two wires in the BCM and I hooked directly to them (Base Model) and used a 555lw for bypass. The Ultra Start has negative output on lock and unlock. It will unlock but not lock. I am sure I have the right wires because I reset the RS and then lock worked and unlock did not. Any ideas?

the lock wire is lt. blue (-), pin B5, and the unlock wire is white (-), pin B10. They are in the lt. blue plug at the BCM
for the locks you might want to try relays maybe your not getting a strong enough negative
also when you set it to 20 seconds it changed the glowplug wire of the RS to a negative input. try grounding this wire and see if it make a differences

Both solutions worked like a charm! I did relays for the locks and grounded the blue wait to start wire and was able to get the 20 second delay. Thanks
