2011 ford f250 transponder ring broken

2001 Ford F250 SuperDuty Diesel When I dropped down the steering column of the car the transponder ring shattered and uncoiled in the vehicle. This is shocking, we must have done a couple hundred Fords in the last few years and never seen anything quite like this. Don't really know if Ford has someone else making the 80 bit encryption rings. So anywho. Connected it back, recoiled it on the ring, plastic welded it back together for the most part and the vehicle will not start. For the most part the 80 bit keys are farely new on the Ford so Im not sure if for some reason is could have lost programming to the keys. -All fuses are good -Power to the pats harness -Starter relay not being triggered 12v from ecm. -Starter wire in car sending 12v -Car doesn't crank, because of system not reading the keys or locked out. -No burnt traces on the circuit board attached to the ring. -We did not install anything yet because this was just taking the truck apart. This is also being posed as a warning to people with the new 80bit key Fords. If all the transponders are made this way, please be very cautious so this doesn't happen to you. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is an odd one. Trying to see if we can pick up a new transponder ring but not sure if on the 80 bit key system if it will need the keys reprogrammed or if its stored in the trucks comp. Thanks

I am pretty sure that the codes are stored in the computer, and that antenna ring is just that, an antenna ring. Picking up a new one from the dealer should take care of the problem. Thanks for the heads up.Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Yea ordered one from the dealer since no one has then here. I just hate waiting for it to come in and then another issue (like the car still not started coming up) coming up. The 2011 do have a circuit board attached under the ring itself thought. Ill post a solution tomorrow when I get it in. Hopefully everything is fine with a new ring.

Ok fix now. Solution, Part # 6E5Z*15607*AA (On reciept no AA on the transponder itself) Cost $34.95 with wholesale account Reg Cost $43.42 No programming needed. *******Careful putting this on, who ever is making these is a different company making them and are very fragile and tight.********
