Help with 2000 Cadillac Deville / Python 580 Remote Start

Hello All –

I have bee lurking for quite sometime and never posted…

I am hoping you can assist me with an issue I am having with a python 580 remote start on my 2000 Cadillac Deville. While I am not even close to an expert in these systems I think I got it hooked up correctly.  I am using an express kit in addition to the python.  The car starts via remote and locks and unlocks the doors.  My issue(s) are:

When I use the remote starter and I enter the vehicle and put the key into the ignition, and place gear selector into drive I get an alert that the drivers door is ajar, which its not).  The alert goes out after a second or two.

Sometimes when I use the remote start the dash doesn’t light up until I put the key in the ignition.

And finally sometimes when I use the remote start the traction control light stays on until I turn the car off and start the car normally.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

what bypass are you using
the door ajar, do you hit the brake at the same time as you try to shift?
try hitting the brake before you shift to turn off the remoter starter. most bypasses will trigger the drivers door pin to turn off the RAP of the vehicle and if you are shifting at the same time it will show that warning.
