I have installed a Viper 5901 and an iDatalink ADS-TB in a 2006 Ford F150. I can get to step 10 where it programs both keys on the iDatalink but it will not remote start. I can remote start ONLY when the key is inserted and in the ON position. I have hooked up all the wires according to Directed's wire locations and colors but obviously I have missed something. Any thoughts?

it should not attempt to remote start with the key in the on position before hitting the start button on the remote starter.
Does it stay running if you remove the key?
are you using d2d or did you hard wire the bypass?
don't hook up the bypass, if you can not get it to remote start with the key in the cylinder (not turned on) then something is not wired right for the remote starter and the problem has to be taken care of first, before you program the bypass.
did you test all wire with a DMM?
list the harness number and wires that you have hooked up from the remote starter to what wire color of vehicle.

A few thoughts with the ADS TB.

Is it flashed with the correct firmware, ADS TB FM?

Did you do a Factory Reset on the bypass module and then select the correct install mode?  I would recommend going W2W with the Viper unit, so select and register 2 blinks.

iDatalink install guides are always very accurate with the transponder wire colors but you would get an error at Step 2 if the TX and RX were reversed.  Also, at Step 10 you would get an error if you had a cloned key instead of two unique transponder keys.

I have found that using the Ignition wire jumper method at Step 10, instead of a remote start, works well.

Soldering is fun!
