Hey guys,
Ok, I have a Clifford AvantGuard 5.5 with Intellistart 4. I have 2 remotes (fobs). My problem is that when I activate the safe start (ie. set the remote start) with one fob, I cannot then restart the car with the other. If I arm the car with one, I can un-arm fine with the other, but it seems the remote start does not work in the same way.
Does anyone know a way around this? Or is it possible to activate the remote start without a fob (ie. at the alarm itself)?
Thanks for any help :)

First question why carry both remotes
You might need to reprogramme both via the owner's manual.
Never had this question come up in 20 years of installing Clifford stuff.

Hey Howie,
Well the actualy reason is that I have an SMS controlled switch that I was hoping to hook up to the spare remote and install that in the car.
Should you ordinarily be able to activate the remote start with one remote and actually start the car with the other then? I'll try reprogramming the remotes though :)

Phone 01420 470 618 on Monday, they should be able to give you a definite answer. Are you using a call guard?

Ok thanks. I'm not no, does the Call Guard require a spare fob to function too?

Yes if you want to R/S it over the phone.

Ok, I phoned up the tech support and they told me that what I wanted to do should work fine.
I had to reprogram my remotes a few times before it worked, but it's all good now.
Just thought it might help someone out in the future :)

I might be misunderstanding your reasoning for needing the FOB in the vehicle. If that is the case I apologize. Does your remote start module have an activation input?

This was briefly discussed recently, wanting to add RS functionality via an SMS "box"
