Hello:

Please I need some help. I've done some digging around but cant seem to find enough info to help me.

I'm looking to get my Astroflex remote working. It was working in the past and then stopped. I have changed the batteries but nada. I called into Astroflex and the told me to repropgram it. So I found where the receiver was installed, underneath the dash and flipped Pin 8...then hit the brake...then pushed the unlock button on the remote (I observed the red LED flash)...then hit the brake again and flipped PIN 8 back to OFF. Nothing happened. I have repeated this sequence twice...but no luck.

Basically, the car is not responding to lock, unlock, remote start, nothing...although the lights on the LED comes on when any button is pressed.

I understand there may be an ON/OFF button installed with the receiver but I did not find any with mine...I did not think it mattered because no one touched this. I also found about 4or 5 fuse boxes near the receover...should I be checking these?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. I do not know the model of the Astroflex....I was not the one who installed as the car came with it. I saw some model numbers on the remote but none matches any of the models posted on the astroflex website. The receiver is placed in an obscure area that it is almost impossible to get at it without  playing with the wire harness.

to program it that way you must flip up only pin 8 on rest must be off
then hit brake
push a button on all transmitters (this will erase all transitters and the must all be reprogramed)
after all transmitter have been learned then flip 8 to off
then hit brake
ps hitting the brake the second time before pin 8 is in the off position will erase the transmitters again

also if the switch is off, the door lock should still work. it only disables the remote starter feature

Thanks Monty for your response. I appreciate.

I just braced the cold to try; I observed the sequence as you posted...no dice man. How does one troubleshoot this stuff?

if the led flashes when you push a button on the remote then you are getting the signal to the main module.
i would check all the fuses first.
then if that does not help check the ground wire and make sure it is making a good connection.
when you remote try to remote start it what code does the led flash out after a failed attempt. do not touch the brake this will clear the code.
something like 8 flashes, then a two second pause, then it will repeat
