hello there i am installing a ct 3471 tw pro start on a 2007 honda civic using a idatalink bypass module. in the pro start manual it say the r/s unit has a feature called virtual tach system and it monitors the rpm without connecting the tach wire. does this mean i do no have to run the tach wire? the car starts and runs fine without it. should i still connect the tach wire? if yes or no can you please tell me reason so better understand the system. thanks
What do i do now?

I can not speak for that make/model remote start, but DEI introduced virtual tach not too long ago. It's neat, and on some vehicles works very well, but is not as reliable as a real tach connection. A physical tach connection is the absolute best, most reliable way to control crank time. When the car is cold it will take a little longer to crank, when hot less time.
Virtual tach, although great in theory has proven troublesome for me. For one example, I did an 02 Highlander that would start perfectly most times, but every once in a while it would crank the starter for almost a full two seconds...even though the engine started at about 1/2 second. It was completely random. I strongly suggest hooking up that tach.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.
