Here is a nice write up and a resistor color code calculator :  https://www.the12volt.com/resistors/resistors.asp   If you have RadioShack in Canada, they should have the resistors you need.
Soldering is fun!

Resistors are measured in ohms. 1 amp, 3 amp, and 6 amp are diodes. Two completely different things.

You should be able to find resistors online pretty easily. As another option, search online for either a DEI 451M or a DEI 456L. The 451M is a small device with two relays inside of it, that also includes a resistor pack that you can use for your door lock interfacing. Or, although a little more expensive, the DEI 456L is another option. It is a resistance learning module, it learns the proper resistance values without the need for additional resistors or relays.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Honestly there is a much easier way to control the locks in this van. On the front of the fuse box are a group of relays, 3 are for the locks. One is lock, one is unlock drivers door and one is unlock the rest. They are controlled by a simple negative pulse so no resistors are needed. Work the locks and remove the ones clicking to find them. Just like any other relays, 85 and 86 control the relay, so use your DVM to determine which one goes to ground when you hit the switch on the door. Connect your wire to the relay using a fuse tap or simply feed the wire thru the hole in the blade of the factory relay and plug it back in. Makes it real easy to do 2 stage unlock too. There's also another relay next to them for the interior lights, you can do the same for an all door trigger....
