Hi everybody!
I don't know if this is usual or unusual but my car alarm has been triggering itself randomly lately.I have Chrysler Pacifica 2005 AWD Touring.
I took my car to the dealership and they have found that my door latch sensor is tripping the alarm.
I don't know if there is a fix, cleaning the sensor or so. Don't know even how to access it. I had to remove the No. 25 fuse so my horn and alarm would not go off in the middle of the night. A new part would run me about 180$ plus the cost of labor. If I know how to access it maybe I can clean it or so.
If anybody knows how to help me would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks guys!!

A new door contact switch would be the answer.

Thanks, where can I find this part online and how do I access it in the door?
Is there any way I can fix the existing one and how can I get to it?
Thanks a bunch.

Considering I've no idea what a Pacifica is could I suggest a trip to your local library to look at a repair manual?

Thanks for the suggestion, I have already look for, it is not published as a book. I have service manual as a pdf but has nothing of how to do the repair, or I might be overlooking something. I will check again. I am still looking for the part.

I believe the door latch sensor is built into the door latch assembly inside the door. To find out open the door and look on the inside of the door jam (on the car not the door) for a push button type switch usually covered with a rubber accordian shaped boot. If you dont have one its in the door. Its usually held in by 3 or 4 screw on the outside of the door. Be cautious when removing the lock and handle rod/cables. they are usually held in place by plastic clips and break easily. The new latch assembly will probably come with new ones but be careful just in case it doesnt. There are alot of parts warehouses online that you should be able to get the part from at a decent price.
