I have an 05 impala. trying to install a viper 5902. All i really care about getting the door locks to work.
I have a dei 451m as well as the xk01.
I have followed instructions to the T but I am not able to lock and unlock my doors.
Is the remote start required to be hooked up for the door locks to work?
Basically all ive done connecting the power cable and ground cable on the 12 pin harness. then i connected the door unlock and lock to the xk01. On the xk01 i connected the purple wire to the pin 2 on the obdii port. When i press the lock and unlock button on the remote, the led on the xk01 flashes but the door locks fail to do anything. I got wized off and just disconnected the xk01.
I then went and tried the dei 451. connected the green and blue output from the alarm (5902) to the green and blue input of the 451 and gave the pink wire a +12V. grounded the PURPLE / black and basically the other wires are connected to the ORANGE / black wire at the bcm with the necessary resistor. However, the doors still wont lock or unlock. Am i missing something? Does everything need to be hooked up including remote start for this to work?
Any help is appreciated.

Was the XK01 flashed with the correct AMDL firmware?  Ver 6.00 is the latest version.

Using the 451M, follow the Type H wiring guide.  Install a 470 ohm resistor on the GREEN/ Black wire and no resistor on the Blue/Black wire.  Verify and connect to the ORANGE / Black Lock Mux wire at the BCM.  You should be able to test this by connecting the Red wire from the 3 wire harness to +12v and then quickly touching the Green or Blue wire ( from the same 3 wire harness ) to chassis ground for Lock and Unlock, respectively.  If all is well, connect the Blue and Green wires to the Vipers' outputs.

Yes, Purple PURPLE / Black wire with 15 Amp fuse to chassis ground.

ORANGE / Black Lock Mux wire is at BCM, gray 24 Pin Plug, Pin B3.

Thank you. Got the door locks to work :-). Anyway to get the remote start to work without the xk01 bypass? I think the xk01 unit is defective

Sure.  Do you have a Digital Multi Meter and feel comfortable with its' operation and use?  The Passlock 2 immobilizer can be bypassed using two relays and a resistor.  Here is a link to the wiring diagram and procedure :  http://documents.audiovox.com/700054.pdf
