aftermarket alarm/ powerlocks issue

Hi, I have a 97 Toyota Tacoma base model with no power locks or alarm system. I have gotten hold of a Audiovox Prestige APS 500 alarm system that I am trying to rig up with a pair of aftermarket (ebay) power lock kit. I know there are more reputable power lock kits on the market, but for now I can only afford the ebay ones.    Here is the link to my alarm system: Audiovox Prestige APS500 (PAGE 6) describes power lock connections My problem with installation is how do I connect the alarm system with the power locks? The APS-500 's brain has 2 designated wires (1 red, 1 green). The manual states that it is provides a Pulsed ground or positive output. In the power lock kit I received a control unit, 1 5-wire actuator, and 1 2-wire actuator. The problem is on the control unit I am able to located and understand where the actuators connect to, but I am only left with 2 wires, a 12+ volt connection and a ground wire. So can somebody steer me in the direction of how I would connect the alarm's pulse wires to the power lock's ground and positive wire? Do I need a relay for this?

You will need 2 relays, one for lock and one for unlock.   you will use the negative outputs from the alarm to drive the relays--Green to unlock, Red to lock.

Oh ok, I have been reading something similar to that on this website, but I have a 5-wire actuator acting as the master that will unlock the 2-wire one with a out a switch. Is it possible to located the trigger wires on the 5 wire actuator and just connect the alarm's red and green pulse wire to it without the use of a relay?

Mods: Please delete my previous post on this topic and I will explain why I am doing this post. Please do not suspend me. Firstly, I was able to locate the 2 trigger wires on the 5-wire actuator. On my kit it is the Brown and White wire I believe this is true for many of the aftermarket actuator, but please do not hold me accountable if it is not. So I hooked the actuators with the control unit as shown with the manual provide along with everything necessary for the alarm system (I.E. constant 12 volts and ground) From my alarm system I took the green wire which is the pulsed ground wire and connected it to the brown wire of the 5-wire actuator (where it connects with the control unit) and the red wire of the alarm system to the white wire of the actuator. I fired it up and bit my tongue hoping it will work. Luckily everything worked on my first try! So in a nutshell, I was able to control the 5-wire actuator with the alarm system without the need of the relay.

Because your aftermarket kit already had a timer relay specific for central locking which you forgot to mention in your first post! Having said that you wired it correctly so everything is OK.

Ok, it has been awhile and everything was working just fine till yesterday. When I engage the alarm system with the key fob, the power locks do not stay locked. The actuator would lock then unlock on its own. However, the button that I wired up for interior use works as normal with 1 press being lock and it stay lock. So what should I check right now? Is it due to one of the actuator going out or the relay? Thanks for any info.
