factory switch not working after alarm

Hi, I just got an alpine sec-8028 installed into an '00 Civic SI and the alarm works like a charm, but the car's factory central door lock switch does not function anymore. When I disconnect the two alpine door trigger wires, the car's central switch works again like from the factory. The car locks/unlocks with the alpine when I arm/disarm but I would like to have control from the factory switch too. My wiring went like this according to the diagrams: alpine WHITE/ green (unlock common) --> honda GREEN/ orange (unlock input) alpine WHITE/ brown (lock common) --> honda GREEN / WHITE (lock input) I connected the alpine wires near the harness that plugs into that white lock control unit in the drivers kick panel. No fuses are blown and all connections are solid. I'm stumped.

You appear to have connected correctly but:- BROWN / red and GREEN/ red grounded to a factory bolt in the kick paneland checked their continuity, should be less than 1ohm against the battery ground. BROWN / blue and GREEN/ blue don't use. Have you tested the alarm's lock outputs to make sure WHITE/ brown and WHITE/ green are each going to ground momentarily when you press lock and unlock on the remote? Have you tested the GREEN / WHITE and GREEN/ orange factory wires? Ground each. Also perform these tests with the key OUT of the ignition and any open doors, latch the lock.

Diode the trgger inputs with two one amp diodes band facing alarm side.commit your way to jehovah and he will act in your behalf. psalms 37:5

Shouldn't need them, never needed them on a Honda and don't forget the locks on this alarm are relay driven, therefore diodes aren't needed.

I've just re-read the post,when did Civics have a factory lock switch? In Europe you just push down on the driver side switch.

When I say factory lock switch I mean the drivers side switch. I'll try to do those tests tonight.

Hence my comment about what lock switch, nothing on a Honda similar to the Toyota switches.

It was actually the brain that was the problem. Last night I called up a buddy so I can swap and test the alpine brains to see what would happen. Turns out my alpine brain was causing the same problems when installed in his car while his alpine brain worked perfectly installed in my car. I bought his alpine from him and he's off to get a new paging alarm he always wanted. I want to thank you guys for spending the time helping me. Brian.
