I am installing a 5902 viper alarm (remote start) and I apply 12V to the pink/white on the steering column for ignition. Then I take the PURPLE / brown on the steering column and a 180 ohm resistor and touch it to ground to start the truck (2007.5 Dodge Ram Diesel 6.7L).
The truck starts for about 2 seconds and then dies right as these trouble codes come on...
P0513 - Invalid SKIM Key
P0581 - Speed control switch circuit high
Any ides on how i can prevent this?

Are you using any kind of transponder bypass?

What happens when you place a working key head against the ignition switch? ( or in the ignition switch but not turned )

Two notes of interest for this vehicle :  The first from Bulldog Security with their recommedations.

NOTE #1: This Vehicle is Equipped with CHRYSLERS MULTIPLEX IGNITION/ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM

that requires a INTERFACE BYPASS MODULE Part # DB-ALL or XK09 for REMOTE
STARTING and for the KELYESS ENTRY, when using the Interface Bypass the Resistors
for the Door Locks is no longer needed, either of these Modules will work for this
vehicle, to order go to the INTERFACE BYPASS MODULE Page on this website.
You could try it this way with relays :  http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/diagrams/extrainfo/diagrams/14301_MAGNUM_CHRYSLERS%20STARTER%202%20AND%20ACCESSORY%20DIAGRAM.pdf  but if you have the transponder immobilizer system, you would still need a "Key in the Box" bypass.  Also note that this relay resistor setup does not generate a "keysense" condition. ( Key sense is negative trigger thru a 8500 ohm resistor, same MUX wire. )

The DEI XK532 can be had for $15.  It handles the MUX wire, transponder and door locks.  Here is a link for more info on the XK532 : http://www.xpresskit.com/product.aspx?productid=397

I have a dei 556U that I haven't opened yet....I'm guessing this is going to generate the RF signal I need for remote start

Does anyone know which method to use on this truck?   There's normal, alternate method 1 and alternate method 2 according to the manual

Standard Immobilizer Interface with the antenna loop on the DEI 556U.  You will lose a key.

The other error,  P0581 - Speed control switch circuit high, might be due to the Accessory circuit not coming on after the start.

Still think the XK532 at $15 is the way to go and you won't lose a key.
