I have been trying to install a Viper 5101 remote start system in my 1995 Manual transmission Subaru Legacy Outback.
I have set the system to Automaic Transmission mode just to test to see if it would work.
This results in the car failing to start. The car tries to start 3 times and fails. Then the doors lock. All of the dash lights turn on and the air conditioner turns on. The engine does not crank and the stereo does not turn on. The 8 pin connector has been tested and works perfectly.
Red+Purple=Engine Crank
Red+Orange=Stereo
Red+Pink=Air conditioner and dash lights
When the device is set to manual transmission mode and the manual shutdown procedure takes place, There is 5 clicks/parking light flashes upon locking the doors to shut off the car.
All wires on the 5 pin connector were tested with a test light and work properly.
Tach-works
Brake-works
E-brake/neutral safety-works
Hood pin-works
rear defogger-not connected
I have gone back and soldered all of the heavy gauge connections and 5-pin connections. They are soldered well and should not be a problem.
Please help! this thing is driving me crazy! I have tried everything I can think of!

I just fixed the automatic transmission start. I needed to attach the red and black and the red and white wires to the 12v constant also.
I have been trying to fix this brake problem for months now. Any ideas?
