why is it so hard to get viper 5301 out of manual mode. ive try a number of times. this is killing me. tried holding down control button then waiting for led to flash and pressing and holding buttons and lock button but still nothing. is ther any other way to get this mode off by using just the remote and func. button.

By manual to automatic do you mean the remote start programming from manual transmission mode to automatic transmission mode??? If so it is done via the valet switch and remote in programming and is in the install manual.
Turn the ignition on then off
immediately press and HOLD the valet button
the siren will chirp once, then twice and then 3 times.
immediately after you hear it chirp the 3 times press the valet once and release it then press and hold it
the siren will chirp
while STILL holding the valet switch press lock on the remote until the siren chirps twice indicating that it is in automatic transmission mode.
after that release the valet and turn the ignition on then off and the siren will chirp then sound indication completion of programming.
Still, the other programming features need to be done correctly i.e. tach vs virtual tach etc...

thats what im saying. tach is set... but i dont have a siren. its just a remote start version. ive been reading that it is easier to do wit a siren or horn hooked up, that way you could hear as it sounds off the modes.
will try and get a horn hooked up and try 2morro

You still have the siren wire from the brain even if there is no siren. You could always hook a test light to it and it will flash when the siren is suppose to chirp.

well as for the door triggers they do not NEED to be hooked up if using as a stand alone keyless/remote start but still recommended. and you only have to use either the + or - not both. And even though the tach is hooked up did you go through the tach learning procedure? or you could always program it to virtual tach. Plus in the manual mode the BLACK/ white neutral safety wire MUST be grounded.
