Hi guys.  Im trying to get a viper 5901 installed on a 08 ford fusion.  The alarm it self is working but the remote start isnt.  When I try to rs the car the ignition 1 is show ground output.  With the alarm disarmed and rs off it still shows ground.  I have disconected all of the wires except for the rs and power for the alarm.

 I have from alarm to vehicle

 H3/1 pink (+) ignition  input output ----------> WHITE/ orange

H3/2 RED / white (+) ignition 2-------------------->not used

H3/3 orange (+) acc.----------------------> Violet/green

H3/4 violet (+) starter output------------------>blue/white

H3/5 green (+) starter input-------------------->not used

H3/6 red (+) fused ign 1 input------------------> 12 v constant

H3/7pink/white (+) ign 2/flex relay-------------->not used

H3/8 pink/black (+) flex relay input---------------->not used

H3/9RED / blk (+) fused acc. sarter input----------->12v constant

Any help or ideas would be great

Any shutdown error codes blinking after the failed remote start?

Assuming an automatic trans, did you program the Viper accordingly?  Menu 3, Item 1, to Option 2.

If you ran a Tach wire ( to a verified source ) and programmed to Tach Mode ( Menu 3, Item 2, Opt 4 ), did you perform the Tach Learn process?

Soldering is fun!

there is no blinking leds but the remote shows "remote start error"
yes on the programming it is set to automatic and the tach mode is set to voltage.

Check the Remote Start Diagnostics to see if any errors were logged.

To perform shutdown diagnostics:

1. With the ignition Off, press and hold the Control button (on Control Center).
2. Turn the ignition On and then back Off while holding the Control button.
3. Release the Control button.
4. Press and release the Control button. The status LED flashes to report the last shutdown for one minute or
until the ignition is turned on, as shown in the following table:
Status LED Flashes Shutdown Mode
1 flash Runtime expired
2 flashes Over-rev shutdown
3 flashes Low or no RPM
4 flashes Transmitter shutdown (or optional push button)
5 flashes (+) Brake shutdown
6 flashes (-) Hood shutdown
7 flashes Timer mode/Turbo mode/Manual mode error *
8 flashes Neutral safety shutdown
9 flashes Low battery (voltage mode)
10 flashes Alarm triggered **
11 flashes Wait-to-start input timed out
* Timer mode error: Ignition is on or shutdown input is active when activating timer mode.
Turbo mode error: Turbo mode is programmed off, engine is not on or shutdown input is active.
Manual mode error: MTS mode not enabled.
** Alarm was triggered during remote start sequence.

Soldering is fun!

The led flashed 9 times indicating low battery. I have the power for the alarm coming of the yellow/red 12v wire at the fuse box. I checked the voltage and it's showing 12v. Tried the rs and stays at 12v

well no luck tonight. tomorrow I will hook it back up in the ranger and see if it works. I guess if all else fails I can try running a old bulldog rs off of a aux. channel.
