2006 acura tl / viper 5902 / idatalink solo
I Need someone to walk me through this last part of my install because I cant seem to get the locks to function properly!! Everything is working great remote start, trunk release running of separate relay, several aux outs etc. Everything is W2W from the idatalink.
The problem is whenever I pop the trunk my doors unlock first instead of just disarming and every worse this also happens before remote starting and they lock after started.
All the wiring on the datalink for lock data & key data are hooked up I just omitted them from the diagram.
I have tried running the blue/green wires directly to the door harness which supposedly controls the arm disarm functions & several other combinations but cannot seem to get it to just disarm.
I do have comfort closure working when I tie the green viper lock wire into the blue/white-WHITE/ red wire at the door harness. I cant believe there isn't an option to run the lock/unlock signal as validity or at least the unlock wire as a double pulse-hold that way I would be able to roll down my windows also without an extra controller.

Can someone help me connect the dots between the Idatalink- Viper & the TL??

Try inserting the key into the driver's door key cylinder and see if only the driver's door or all doors unlock. Report back asap.

Ya actually yesterday I figured out the remote start part. It was related to priority unlocking which I had turned off in the Acura computer, I always preferred unlocking all the doors at once. Once I turn priority locking back on I can get it to remote start without unlocking!!
I'm kinda surprised, I've never seen anyone talk about the priority locking setting through the OEM computer as a factor in wether or not you can disarm without unlocking.
I still have one issue though, I opted to wire in a separate trunk relay so I could unlock while my car was started and it works except under normal operation without the car started it sets off the alarm. I do have it set to disarm before trunk release too. Still tinkering with this issue if you have some insight let me know!

Send a -trunk pulse to the trunk input (RED / white) on the idata module. This will disarm the alarm. Use 2 diodes from the remote start's trunk output, one to your relay and one to the module.

Ya I actually did try that but it didn't seem to work. I thought thats what I needed to do,   i'll have to look it over again.   I tapped into the (-) pulse trunk release wire from the viper which I already had wired up going to the trunk relay.     I just "T" tapped off this wire with a diode to the iDatalink (stripe away from iDatalink) but I didn't have a diode on the trunk release wire that feed into the actual relay coil (didn't think it would be necessary as this is just energizing the coil there shouldn't be feedback & I have a spike diode across the relay coil)
Thanks for the help though, I wont be working on it today but I'll try that again tomorrow maybe with (2) diodes.

First try it to the RED / white, if that doesn't work, try it to the brown disarm wire, if that doesn't work, try the unlock. As long as unlock disarms, this should work (although the doors will be unlocked). Good luck.

I'll be going out soon to mess around with it again, I actually did also try pulsing the brown disarm wire with the (-) trunk output but that didn't work either.     I had it working the other day, but it was also unlocking the doors & this before I had the remote start disarming without unlocking issue worked out.   Hopefully I wont waste much more time on this part.
I guess most of the time when I'm popping my trunk I will also be unlocking my car either before or shortly after so it wont matter.
One question not sure if your familiar with Acuras but the security light built into my door dosent flash anymore why would this be? The OEM system is obviously still arming.   I'll be splicing in and running directly to this LED if I have too, but would rather avoid this if possible.

Seriously I'm going crazy!! Even if I ditch the aux trunk relay and take the RED / White trunk output (-) wire from the Viper and hook it up to the   RED / White trunk input on the Idatalink so the trunk can be controlled through "data" the alarm still activates!!! (I have a bitwriter & it is set to disarm before trunk release too)
Also I realized when the alarm goes off it does warn away then siren but no horn (not hooked up to viper). This means it is not setting off the OEM alarm, its setting off the viper. If the OEM alarm is activated it would sound right away and the horn would go off.   (Also just incase I turned the shock sensor off completely. )
So obviously the idatalink can communicate with the data lock wire because it can pop the trunk through this wire, but why is the viper not disarming itself when it receives trunk release command?

Alright well this is crap!!
I figured out why its acting like this.   The green status output from the Idatalink (connected to the green status input of the viper (H1/8 Green) sends a (-) status signal if either a door OR the trunk is opened.    It doesn't distinguish between the two, so even though the trunk zone is disabled by the viper during activation ( through the H1/7 (BLUE) trunk - input)   the viper still gets a (-) trigger on the green status wire and reacts as if a door was opened so it sets off the alarm.
If I disconnect the green status wire from the Viper and leave it open everything works so it looks like I need to get the door status directly through (-) the dome light wire or diode isolated from all four door switch wires.
I cant believe the idatalink cant provide a separate status for the doors & trunk I guess its a limitation of the CANBUS because it does provide a separate hood status output .
