I have a viper 791xv installed in a 2003 ford expedition with a 556u bypass module for the remote start system and the problem have is when it gets cold outside during the winter the remote start system does not work, it goes through the motions but it doesnt attempt to start the vehicle. I do not have any issues with it during the warm and summer temperatures.

  • While there are things to try to get more consistent performance, why not switch/upgrade to a "Data" style bypass.  That would return a working key for normal use, improve security and provide reliable all weather starts.  Check out the PKALL bypass module at :     http://www.xpresskit.com/product.aspx?productid=196   Online prices about ~$35.
Soldering is fun!
