Hi Folks,
I searched the forum but did not find anything exactly that could help me. I am installing a remote start on a 90 Chevy with a GM CS130 alternator. The remote starter needs a +12V signal when the engine is running and 0V when the engine is stalled to prevent cranking while the engine is running.
The instructions say to use Lead "L" of the alternator, but it does not seem to produce +12V while the engine is running at least according to my volt meter (GM CS130 alternator).
I found some other posts that said to use a relay off the Oil Pressure switch (grounded when no oil pressure) or adapt something off the HEI GM tach lead.
Does anyone have a simpler solution? Or can you point me to a kit that can help?
Thanks in advance.
