I just got a Compustar RF-P2W901-SS installed and I would like to add rear defrost and trunk open to it. What relays, bypass's, etc. do I need? I've never installed any remote starter items myself, but I've done lots with lighting wires and radio wiring. Basically looking to get everything I need all at once and put it all in in one shot. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

2002 Aztek

Omega info
Rear Defrost             WHITE (-)                  AT HVAC CONTROL
Trunk Release         Light BLUE (-)          DR SIDE CENTER CONSOLE IN ACCESS PAN

DEI and Bulldog info

Trunk/Hatch Release            WHITE/ black ( - )          16 pin gray plug at BCM

Not sure which Compustar controller you have, but they always have a (-) Trunk Release output.  You will have to locate & test the Defrost wire to see if it is a pulse or latch.  Most Compustar units can handle a (-) Defrost output, too.

Soldering is fun!

So do I just connect the trunk release output and defrost output directly to the vehicles trunk and defrost wires? Or do I need some sort of relay or something? Kinda new to this... Just called the guys that installed it for a few issues I'm having with it. Maybe someone here can help me with some of them:

1. I'm getting the service vehicle soon message

2. The stereo turns off when the keys are taken out of the ignition. It is supposed to stay on for 10 minutes with the "< size=2 face="Arial">< size=2 face="Arial">Retained Accessory Power (RAP)" feature.

< size=2 face="Arial">< size=2 face="Arial">3. The trunk open button on the remote starter locks the doors, doing nothing with the actual trunk

< size=2 face="Arial">< size=2 face="Arial">4. When I lock/unlock the vehicle manually (with the key or with the door buttons), it does not change the locked/unlocked status on the remote

< size=2 face="Arial">< size=2 face="Arial">5. The temperature sensor that is supposed to be an accessory on this remote does not work. Showed 21 degrees Celsius after the vehicle had been off for 15 mins in 0 degree weather. Do I need another part (like a sensor) for this to work? Pretty sure I don't and I really hope the installers don't screw me...

< size=2 face="Arial">< size=2 face="Arial">6. The exterior lights turn off after I lock the vehicle with the remote starter. They are supposed to stay on in dark conditions after the vehicle is turned off and vacated with the "Perimeter Lighting" and "Headlamp Exit Delay" features. Also, the exterior lights do not turn on in dark conditions when unlock is pressed. They are supposed to turn on with the "Perimeter Lighting" feature.

< size=2 face="Arial">< size=2 face="Arial">7. As I've said above, I would like to have the ability to turn on/off the rear defrost with the remote. Is this just a direct hard wired connection or do I need something extra?

< size=2 face="Arial">< size=2 face="Arial">Sorry for the long post... Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
