Car is a 2000 protege auto
I'm new to doing installs and am fine with the rest of the connections, but I'm not sure as to where I should hook up the second Red 12V(battery) connection on the 6 pin harness (I'm sure some of you are laughing that read this). I have the other +12V Red connected to the Black ignition wire as stated in the diagrams as I understand this is constant +12 volts.
Also where is the most convenient hook up location for the white(ground when running) wire on the 12 pin harness?

Read some more posts and saw that there were recommendations to connect the second 12V to the constant +12 and that the white ignition wire is for the bypass. Ive got a problem though, the alarm only seems to work with the key in the ignition and only gets power. perhaps I have the color codes wrong? http://www.autostart.ca/Autosoft/images/AutosoftPics/3649ignharn.jpg
shows the wires needed to connect according to their schematics, however https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/alarmdetail/1403.html shows something different. Whats the problem?

further clarification: I was able to program the system only with the keys in and turned so that the brain gets powered on. remote start works, my multiplexed relays with the 1.5K resistors worked fine too, everything else works. http://www.engines911.com/asdocs/CT_3271_wd_en_h46s40_080908.pdf is the link to the wiring diagram for the brain, I'm sure its something really simple, need some help from someone thats done these ones before

Nevermind. Got it all working. Followed the wiring diagram on 12volt instead of the autostart page. There are 6 wires in total on my protege for the main harness. The constant 12V is on a separate sheathed harness with another BLACK/ white wire. Ended up testing it with my multimeter and found the issue.
